This is the first of two evening performances at the Quarterhouse, begins with a triple Bill, three companies based in the Kent, present different ways that performance can be expressed.

 

First up new work that premiers at Wavelengths called something something by Sidonie Carey-Green, a UK-based dance filmmaker and practitioner-researcher whose work explores the intersection of movement, film, and technology.

 

Second on the bill is Jodie Cole’s Beach Babe is dance theatre show about escaping to the sea, finding love on the shores of Margate and trying not to mess it all up, as Jodie asks, can the sea really heal us all?

 

After the interval is The Chair, written and directed by Terry Smith in collaboration with Lise Boucon first presented in 2024 at The Place. It is a piece that examines the coming to terms with grief.The first of two evening performances at the Quarterhouse features a captivating triple bill, showcasing the diverse expressions of performance from three Kent-based companies.

Tonight's double bill presents an opportunity for audiences to engage with two dynamic companies that share a variety of interests and artistic concerns: Instep Dance and Lila Dance. Instep will present a compelling series of short related works that explore themes of movement and expression, and after a brief interval, Lila Dance will showcase their current work, Fault Lines, which is currently touring nationally to great acclaim.
