Movement | Dance | Performance

Wavelengths is back! For eleven days Folkestone becomes a stage for dance, performance, film and creative participation. From young dancers taking their first steps to established artists sharing new work, Wavelengths celebrates movement, creativity and community across the town.

Festival highlights include a Quarterhouse double bill featuring InStep and 3Fall Dance Company; An Obscure Camera, an interactive installation and outdoor performance project by Flexer & Sandiland; Dialogue in Amerta Movement, a discussion with author and dance researcher Emma Meehan in conversation with Sidonie Carey-Green; and new work from Moving Memory, pioneers in creative practice with older generations at The Grand. Erendira Canedo L will facilitate workshops in improvisations and Elly Rutherford creates a sensory movement workshop outside on the coast.

A dedicated screendance strand developed in partnership with Screen South includes workshops, artist discussions and a special screening programme from Sadler's Wells Digital Stage, featuring a workshop and talk with Emma Critchley and Maya Carroll.

By bringing movement into theatres, galleries, streets and everyday public spaces, Wavelengths continues to build Folkestone's reputation as a place where contemporary dance and performance can be experienced by everyone.
