Immersive Installation

Step inside an immersive world of live projections, movement and observation. Flexer & Sandiland's interactive installation transforms the everyday streets of Folkestone into a shifting landscape of discovery and surprise.
SATURDAY 13 (1 & 2)
Performance
The Obscure Camera has been further developed to encompass a series of choreographic interventions performed in open public spaces adjacent to the installation. This situation re-addresses the balance between observer and observed.
MONDAY 15 (11-5)
Screening
This collection of films are made by Indonesian dance, movement and film artists. They explore Amerta Movement practice developed by Javanese dance artist Suprapto Suryodarmo. Common themes are respect for nature, ritual and spirituality through movement.

TUESDAY (11am - 2pm)
Workshop
This is a call to come and explore how to create a non-choreographic, collective dance. Together we will explore the tools used in movement improvisation: the body's natural movement range and rhythms, solo and as a group.

Performance, film and conversation come together in this powerful sharing from Moving Memory, celebrating creativity, visibility and the experiences of older women through contemporary performance.

Performance
Join Moving Memory for a special sharing of new work in progress – a 20 minute performance emerging from recent research and development, followed by a short animated film and an open Q&A.

Workshop
What can we learn from the sea about movement, camera and performance? In this practical one-day lab, artist-filmmaker Emma Critchley and dance artist Maya Carroll invite dancers, filmmakers and creative practitioners to explore film and movement in relation to water.

Screen South presents a special one-off screening of six newly commissioned dance films from Sadler’s Wells’ Dance Digital, a festival celebrating dance on screen for dance fans, film lovers and the dance-curious.

Join Elly Rutherford for a sensory movement journey around East Cliff park and Sunny Sands using playful movement, sensory materials and guided meditation. Together, we’ll also explore last year's Triennial artwork Oceans Tree of Life by Jennifer Tee and the surrounding nature.

A high-energy mixed bill bringing together Instep Dance Company and 3Fall Dance Company in their first shared performance. Instep’s 240-strong youth company meets 3Fall’s 11 emerging professional dancers for a bold, physical and imaginative programme.
